BOOK LAUNCH ALBUM 900 LUCIA PESCADOR | PAOLA LENTI MILANO

In collaboration with APALAZZOGALLERY, we are excited to present the new book ALBUM 900 by Italian artist Lucia Pescador. The intimate showcase will take place this Wednesday, 23 October at PAOLA LENTI MILANO flagship store in Via Giovanni Bovio, 28, where some of artist’s work has been on display since the last Design Week.

A conversation with Lucia Pescador will conclude the evening, providing a deeper insight into her artistic journey and the creation of ALBUM 900.

The event is open to the public with RSVP to events@paolalenti.it

Lucia Pescador (Voghera, Feb. 9, 1943) began her artistic career in 1965. From 1977 to 1989 she was part of the Gruppo Metamorfosi, with whom she shared themes of investigation, including, above all, the dialectic between culture and nature. A relationship that the artist has deepened since the early 1990s through the Inventory of the End of the Century with the Left Hand, a series organized by headings - Art, Artefice, Enigmistica, Geometry, Hotel du Nord, Nature - in which he copies works of the twentieth century. The use of the left hand (despite not being left-handed) enhances the expressive and interpretive aspect and is well suited to evoke the process of deconstruction of academic representation that occurred during the twentieth century. Her interest in culture and memory can be attributed to a postmodernist attitude, albeit in a poetic key and always favoring drawing.
Lucia Pescador is represented by APALAZZOGALLERY from 2021, where she has held her last solo exhibitions: Geometries for Sonia Delaunay and Joseph Beuys (2021), and Africa by Hearsay and Various Humanities (2022), curated by Marta Sironi.
