ALBUM 900 LUCIA PESCADOR | TRIENNALE MILANO
On Saturday, November 23, we will present ALBUM 900 with Lucia Pescador at CUORE, the newly renovated space dedicated to TRIENNALE MILANO's archival documents.
Lucia Pescador's work is based on collections and series that draw from a wide range of literary and visual interests, forming an imaginative encyclopedia born from a constantly evolving tapestry. Key themes in her practice, such as nature and geometry, East and West, drawing and photography, historical avant-garde and anonymous 20th century art, intertwine with her personal experience to create thematic compositions that she has called Atelier Dispersi since the 1990s, when she began mounting her works on walls.
ALBUM 900 becomes a kind of "reduction" of Pescador's working wall. Rather than starting a new series, she retraces the entire course of her work, assembling a "snapshot" that synthesizes her visual vocabulary. ALBUM 900 reflects Palermo Publishing's commitment to translating Lucia Pescador's potentially infinite body of work, which now comprises over one hundred sheets. To capture the fluid and open nature of Pescador's creative process, this first selection of 30 sheets from ALBUM 900 is published unbound in an edition of 700 copies. This format allows the book to be read intuitively, emphasizing the relational and polyphonic nature of Pescador's work. The sheets are presented in their entirety, inviting the reader to experience the collection through dynamic double-page spreads or as individual sheets that can be removed to create new narratives and associations.
Damiano Gullì, curator for Contemporary Art and Public program at Triennale Milano, Marta Sironi, art historian and curator, and Michela Palermo, founder of Palermo Publishing, will join Lucia Pescador at the presentation.
